About

Welcome to My Wholesome Home

About me
I have been an avid member in the health industry for the past eleven years as a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor, TRX Suspension Trainer, Booty Barre Instructor and Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I am grateful to have recognized that what I love is what I can do for a living. It wasn't always this way. I dabbled in radio, television and and print magazine for years. When I was fired from the magazine(music editor/interviewer/writer/receptionist)I discovered my love for fitness which led to nutrition and now to the environment. A year after I finished my Holistic Nutritionist program my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Quite the diagnosis and her prognosis was just as awful, 12 months. My mom fought hard and NEVER complained even on her "bad" days. She underwent radiation pretty much all over her body and chemotherapy. Not to mention the cocktail of medications she was on. I quit my job and attended every appointment my mother had, prepared her healthy meals, introduced her to raw food, massaged her sore body, talked with her, read to her and watched her sleep. But my biggest goal was to keep her alive or at least keep her well for the little time she had left. My mom, Lily, passed away on August 27, 2007., exactly 11 months after her diagnosis.

They say there is a lesson to be learned after terrible things happen like losing a loved one. I now know the lesson of my mother's early departure. I'm not ready to share it with everyone at this time but what I can say I learned is, if you don't take care of yourself - body, mind and spirit - no one else will. They also say, "There is light at the end of the tunnel" and that light shun on January 18, 2009., at 2:11am. My son Jackson was born. Because of my mother and my son I am passionate about living a holistic lifestyle and look for different ways each day to better myself, my family, friends and clients.
